I was wondering about the buy out of Alltel by Verizon. Does that mean that current Alltel customers will become Verizon customers? If so, when will this take place?

Great question. Most Alltel Wireless customers will be converted to Verizon Wireless in the upcoming months with no additional effort by the customer. However, as part of the regulatory approval process, a select number of ZIP codes in which both Alltel and Verizon Wireless offer service will not merge carriers. In other words, Alltel customers in those ZIP codes will remain Alltel customers unless they voluntarily change carriers (early termination fees may apply). For those of you that are in integrated ZIP codes, you can choose to keep your Alltel cell phone or purchase a Verizon Wireless device. If you choose to change to Verizon Wireless before the official conversion, you may face early termination fees from Alltel Wireless.
Hope this helps.

The camera is a hardware feature that is included with the phone, but if you wish to send picture or video messages, additional charges will apply. And, the VZ Navigator is available for an additional monthly charge.

Hi, my current plan expires in December. Is it too early to upgrade to this phone? I hate to leave my cell phone number here, but I'm certain you'll be able to find my account using my e-mail address. Please let me know. Thanks.

Generally, you must at least be into your 22nd month of your two-year contract to be eligible for an upgrade. Your best bet however, is to contact Verizon Wireless directly.

The Blackberry Curve by ATT is HAC rated at M3 and T3. The Curve by Verizon is rated as M3 only. Why? And will this matter at all?

The "M3" and "T3" ratings reflect how the wireless device will work with the hearing aid in microphone mode ("M") and in telecoil mode ("T"). This means that they are both HAC-compliant and these specs will only effect you if you use a hearing aid. If so, it would be worth further investigating the differences before proceeding with a purchase.

In order to change from Cingular/AT&T to Verizon, you will need to purchase a new BlackBerry 8330 from Verizon. First of all, all major carrier phones are locked to that specific network. Secondly, Verizon runs on a CDMA technology while AT&T runs on GSM. This means that even if you had an unlocked AT&T BlackBerry, it still could not be activated on Verizon's network. Lastly, Verizon requires a data option on all of their BlackBerrys, so you will have to purchase one.

The BlackBerry Curve has a menu tour (E-mail setup or at the end of the Setup Wizard tour) that will take you through setting up your e-mail account on the device. Additionally, we should note that if you'd like to save music as ringtones, you'll need a MicroSD card in order to store them on the device.

If I select this phone, can I keep my same cell#? I am already a Verizon customer. Will this affect this offer in any way?
