If I select this phone, can I keep my same cell#? I am already a Verizon customer. Will this affect this offer in any way?
-Willie Glass

  • Re: Number Porting 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: Number Porting 0 Post(s) Reply Yes, you can absolutely keep your same phone number. You just need to port it over to your new cell phone, which you can easily do on LetsTalk.com when checking out. There is however, generally a difference between pricing offers for New Customers and Contract Extensions. Please visit our website for specific pricing questions.

I was wondering about the buy out of Alltel by Verizon. Does that mean that current Alltel customers will become Verizon customers? If so, when will this take place?
-josh

  • Re: Alltel-Verizon Integration 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: Alltel-Verizon Integration 0 Post(s) Reply Great question. Most Alltel Wireless customers will be converted to Verizon Wireless in the upcoming months with no additional effort by the customer. However, as part of the regulatory approval process, a select number of ZIP codes in which both Alltel and Verizon Wireless offer service will not merge carriers. In other words, Alltel customers in those ZIP codes will remain Alltel customers unless they voluntarily change carriers (early termination fees may apply). For those of you that are in integrated ZIP codes, you can choose to keep your Alltel cell phone or purchase a Verizon Wireless device. If you choose to change to Verizon Wireless before the official conversion, you may face early termination fees from Alltel Wireless. Hope this helps.

Hi, my current plan expires in December. Is it too early to upgrade to this phone? I hate to leave my cell phone number here, but I'm certain you'll be able to find my account using my e-mail address. Please let me know. Thanks.

The Blackberry Curve by ATT is HAC rated at M3 and T3. The Curve by Verizon is rated as M3 only. Why? And will this matter at all?
-Steve Newman

  • Re: Balckberry Curve 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: Balckberry Curve 0 Post(s) Reply The "M3" and "T3" ratings reflect how the wireless device will work with the hearing aid in microphone mode ("M") and in telecoil mode ("T"). This means that they are both HAC-compliant and these specs will only effect you if you use a hearing aid. If so, it would be worth further investigating the differences before proceeding with a purchase.

Do I have to pay for a data plan if I change from Cingular to Verizon with my Blackberry 8330?
-Betsy Newman

  • Re: Data Plans?? Included in family plan/ 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: Data Plans?? Included in family plan/ 0 Post(s) Reply In order to change from Cingular/AT&T to Verizon, you will need to purchase a new BlackBerry 8330 from Verizon. First of all, all major carrier phones are locked to that specific network. Secondly, Verizon runs on a CDMA technology while AT&T runs on GSM. This means that even if you had an unlocked AT&T BlackBerry, it still could not be activated on Verizon's network. Lastly, Verizon requires a data option on all of their BlackBerrys, so you will have to purchase one.

How do I make a Blackberry account in order to get ringtones on to my phone from email? It's for a Blackberry Curve 8330 through Alltel?
-kelsey

  • Re: confused 0 Post(s) Reply

Re: confused 0 Post(s) Reply The BlackBerry Curve has a menu tour (E-mail setup or at the end of the Setup Wizard tour) that will take you through setting up your e-mail account on the device. Additionally, we should note that if you'd like to save music as ringtones, you'll need a MicroSD card in order to store them on the device.

I'm going to tell you why this phone is one of the most awesome I have ever owned! First of all, it's not just because I love the color "Inferno" and the themes I can download to it which changes its overall layout. I was with AT&T, they're the most expensive cell phone company on the planet! I went to Ntelos, and couldn't even get internet service on it even though it ran off ATT's towers. Sprint, is 3G-4G super fast speed, EVEN where I live in the town of Chapmanville WV! I have the "Simply Everything Plan" which comes with a TON of extras on my phone, GPS, Maps, Tracking device, OMG, you seriously need to read all the highlights! I have unlimited Text, Data and Unlimited minutes entirely, unlimited calling to "ANY PHONE", which includes cells or landlines whether it's DAY, NIGHT or WEEKENDS! I live between two mountains and have a scanty signal, so I purchased the "Sprint Airave", hooked it into my DSL to boost my Sprint Cell Signal..."AND IT WORKS!" So I got rid of my landline and have only 1 phone bill now! Not two! It's worth it to have the Simply Everything plan for 99.00 a month through Sprint, considering Verizon has the same home signal boosting box for 299.99 dollars on their website, plus their Cell phone plans are scrutinous! With ATT Wireless you have to pay 15 to 20 dollars EXTRA for text and for data, PLUS an extra 30.00 to 35.00 a month just for the BB plan! NOT with Sprint! LOVE my new BB 8330 Inferno and my Sprint plan! It's worth every dime!
